A very original specification early Z1. NB. We have just fitted the engine to this bike as part of a considerable program of restoration. The engine is a Z1 item but NOT the bike's original engine, having been manufactured a few months later. The bike is UK registered on an age related "L" plate. She will now qualify as a UK "Historic Vehicle" with free Road Tax and MOT exemption. She was originally sold new in the USA and first registered in the UK in 1990. When bought by us she had a later Z1A engine fitted. An exceptionally original and low miles 1975 Z1B 900. One owner from new to 2018. Candy Blue and very good condition. The low mileage is supported by the bike's original tyres still being fitted when we sold this machine in 2018. At that time we fited new BT45s but the original 1975 Dunlop tyres (part worn) are still with the bike - see photos. Originally sold new in the USA she is UK registered on age related plates and in the "Historic Vehicle" tax class with free Road Tax and MOT exemption. A letter to us from Kawasaki UK confirms her ID and the bike's correct detail includes eg. original dated wheel rims. A considerable amount of service and recommissioning work was completed by us in 2018. This included new steering head bearings, fork seals, brake over haul with factory spec twin disks with new callipers etc., electrics chekced with new battery and voltage regulator fitted, fuel system cleaned with new fuel tap and carbs rebuilt, new exhaust system and new chain and sprockets. The bike has only covered 370 miles since 2018, however, she has just been carefully checked over, road tested and serviced in our workshop. A superb and prize winning example of the most desirable early CBX1000Z model (1978-79), with extensive history and prizes included. Sold to her last owner by us in 2005. This machine was first registered in the UK in 1996 having been imported from Europe. The last owner, an enthusiastic CBX riders club member has spent considerable time and money improving the bike to her present outstanding condition. Cosmetic work including many NOS parts and frame and bodywork refinishing by John Mossey Restorations was completed in 2006. And during 2008 her engine, carbs, brakes and instruments were re-built by CBX Riders Club Technical Expert, Steve Courtney (paper work included) at this point her rebuilt speedo was zeroed (so 846 miles ago). This is a multiple prize winning and quite outstanding example of what was for may of us our first motorcycle and a ticket to freedom, maybe traveling slowly but providing some great memories! Restored in 2004/5 by Stephen Aldworth the lovely bike you see here won 1st Prize at the FS1E show in 2006, together with awards a variours other events. The prizes that you see in our photos are included with the bike's documents and hand books. She is an original UK registered bike (13th October 1975) and is a rare FS1E D model, which was the first to feature the front disk brake. She is in "Competition Yellow" and has correct matching numbers and UK V5 registration. She has always been on display in doors and has not been used on the road since restoration. Yamaha's XS750 shaft drive Four Stroke Triple. In 1977 this was MCN's Bike of the Year and Yamaha's top of the range machine! An original UK registered bike (31st October 1977) now a Historic Vehicle with free Tax and MOT exemption. The Bike Runs and Rides and has correct matching numbers and we have completed basic service work (see below). It has been off the road in storage for many years and is best described as a "rolling restoration". It is fitted with a Motad 3 into 1 exhaust, Conti tyres are dated 1999, paintwork is aged, forks have some pitting, chrome is aged and engine has been poorly brush painted. Please look carefully at the pictures. However, it sounds great and overall looks v original. We have completed careful inspection, service work and road testing. Our work has included; fuel system cleaned and new fuel, battery, points and condenser, oil and filter, carbs set and new throttle cable fitted, new primary chain fitted, brake and electrical work. The BSA B31 is a classic example of the traditional British four stroke single. The B31 was introduced in 1945 to meet the huge post war demand for reliable, practical, work and play motorcycle transport. Today experiencing the bike is to visit another world where motorcycles were built to last be practically servicable for everyday use. This example was first registered on April 1st 1958 and still has an original non dating registration number. The bike is now in the "Historic Vehicle" Tax class and came to us as paert of a small collection. She runs and rides well and has been in regular use. Finished in "Almond Green" and in generally good cosmetic condition (paintwork Chrome and seat) with some deterioration due to age. Tyres are Dunlop TT 100s lightly worn and dated 05/06. The primary chain case has at some time been repaired. As it is the later 1958 model our bike features alternator and coil ignition with points. We have completed our usual evaluation, service/check over and road testing. We have the V5 and Hand Book. Delivered new in may 1959 by Henlys to Mr and Mrs Henry Collins of Surrey who retained it till 1974 when it was bought by Jaguar collector Peter Spackman at about 48000 miles. He had a straight port head and 2" SUs fitted by AWB Motors, the legendary MK1 racer Albert Betts. His famous MK1 is seen regularly at Goodwood in the capable hands of Historic racer, Justin Law. Spackman also had the car converted to wire wheels and with radials it handles really well. It has disc brakes all round and has automatic transmission with the Intermediate speed hold which helps to give the car a surprisingly lively performance and really good mid range acceleration. It is finished in the original Pearl Grey with super original dark blue hide,exceptional woodwork and has a period Radiomobile fitted.It has a comprehensive history file with original buff logbook,the invoice from Henlys ,bills back to 1959 and the handbook.With only three fastidious owners from new and low mileage this is a rather special MK1. £ 19950. Only a handful of 150s were supplied without wires and hardly any survive ! It is a march 1960 home market Special Equipment model with overdrive,fog and spot lamps and twin stainless exhausts. It was supplied to South Devon Garages, Torquay by Henlys, London and the first owner was R.E.Shaw of Paignton, Devon. Chassis Number S 827535DN retains the original registration number, 144 ETT and is taxed and MOT'd. Sold new in march 1954 by Appleyards [Bradford] and retained by the Frances family until 1983 by which time it had covered 18800 miles from new.[Letter in the history file from Mrs.Frances confirming the mileage and that "all parts and bodywork are original]. It is a late MK V11 as distinct from a V11 M and is thus very rare with overdrive. It has all the lovely early features including the tripod headlamps [shared with the 120], built in foglamps, small back light units and semaphore indicators. In the interests of safety it has flashers suspended below the bumpers which are easily removed. Needless to say it has the wonderful factory sliding sunroof and the toolkits in the doors. The history is well documented and shows that it has been domiciled in Germany, Hong Kong, Spain and latterly Warwickshire in a Jaguar connoisseur's collection. In his 7 year ownership the car has been sensitively used and maintained and the car has now covered 23.300 miles from new. The coachwork is ruler straight and in magnificent order with superb door gaps the like of which are seldom seen on restored cars. The interior is equally good and completely original even down to the carpets and headlining ! This splendid 1964 Alvis TE 21 saloon is a very original example with an exceptionally well documented history from 8500 miles in 1966. Having had a succession of caring long term owners KMM 813 remains a pleasantly original example that has only covered 96,500 well recorded miles.The interior is lovely and merely requires an application of hide food from time to time. The engine runs beautifully with good oil pressure and the fuel pump has recently been rebuilt. The coachwork is straight with good door gaps, the paintwork is presentable and the chrome is good. 1929 MG 18/80 MK1 Tourer.This exceedingly rare MG is one of only 32 known mk1s and has well documented history back to the thirties. The 2 1/2 litre six delivers smooth and effortless performance which is unsurprising as MG were aiming at the Alvis ,Bentley and the Lagonda market with the 18/80.In 84 years the car is thought to have had a mere five owners, four of them long term. Before the war it was owned by Brooklands motor cycle racer, Dr Joe Bayley who was reunited with the car in 1998 at the tender age of ninety ! There are many wonderful photos of the car in the files showing it as delivered as a two seater and subsequently with the original four seater Carbodies coachwork which was rescued from Barkus's Scrapyard in 1946 by vintage MG guru,Morgan Marshall and fitted years later by a subsequent owner of UU 5737. Today the car is a delightfully usable, whilst slightly" oily rag ,"machine ideal for VSCC trialling or other events and is rather good value when compared with vintage Lagondas. £69500. This splendid Doctors Coupe with double Dickey seat sports beautiful coachwork by Charlesworth and is amazingly original even down to the black leather hood. It is believed to be the sole surviving 13.9 out of a total of only about 30 or so Calcotts worldwide and the Charlesworth body is very rare, possibly unique.The 2.1 litre engine and 4 speed gearbox combine to give this respected Coventry product a spritely performance. The history file contains fascinating correspondence,old photographs,copies of brochures and road tests and a buff logbook showing one owner from 1926 -1966 and one from 1966 -2011. |
